Motor vehicle interference - RIVER CLOSE - Can you help? |
||
Crime number: 01/7014402/26![]() In the early hours of this morning Monday 5 January at 0250hrs a car was entered by a suspect on the driveway of a property in River Close, Ruislip, just off Elmbridge Drive. Two suspects were captured on residents' CCTV and it is likely that they would have been active across a much wider area of Ruislip and Eastcote overnight.
Action requested please: It is a myth that the police are not interested in theft or attempted theft from motor vehicles, arrests are made for this type of crime but success is reliant on residents reporting the incidents in the first place (to create a heat map of events over a wider area on which officers can focus) and then residents stepping forwards with CCTV that shows clear facial imagery of the suspects - however, images that only show clothing, rucsacs with logos, or specific ways in which the suspect walks, are all vital to linking together groups of crimes. Therefore if you have CCTV or a video doorbell in the vicinity and surrounding roads then please do take a moment to check for motion triggers overnight - and if you detect suspicious activity please contact the police using the above Crime number using any of the methods at the bottom of our home page: https://www.hillingdonnhw.co.uk/
Crime prevention advice: Given the number of times that we all come home and get out of our vehicles, it's easy to leave your vehicle unlocked on one or two occasions - so make it part of your night-time routine to double check. Make sure that nothing of any value is left on view or thieves will almost certainly progress further using force if the vehicle is locked. Remember that if you leave your wallet in your car not on view then the thieves will still find it - so for peace of mind just remove everything that you would not want to find gone the next morning.
And finally… Hillingdon now has the highest Neighbourhood Watch membership across all of the 32 London boroughs, so please encourage your neighbours to increase this number still further in 2026 by joining us at https://www.hillingdonnhw.co.uk/ including the Met Engage option that will allow them to receive messages directly from our Police Safer Neighbourhoods Teams. | ||
